How RoarSoar stays free
Creating a RoarSoar account, building boards and publishing ideas can remain free. Small charges apply only when RoarSoar processes and stores files directly, protecting the project from unlimited hosting costs while it is still under development.
Free to create, link and share
- Create and organise boards.
- Write and publish articles, stories and reflections directly on RoarSoar.
- Link videos from YouTube, Vimeo or another supported video host.
- Link photographs from Flickr, ImageKit or Cloudinary, subject to each service’s free-plan limits and terms.
- Link podcasts, audio and documents stored elsewhere.
- Read, view and share public recorded content without a per-view charge.
Direct RoarSoar hosting
- Photographs: US$1 per year for up to 40 photographs.
- Video: US$1 per year for each 10 minutes, or part thereof.
- Podcast or audio: US$1 per year for an episode up to 60 minutes.
- Documents: US$1 per year for a file up to 1 GB.
- Live chamber attendance: US$1 per person for one scheduled chamber day of up to 8 hours.
- Digital-product sales: RoarSoar retains a 20% platform fee. The creator receives the remaining 80%, less payment-processing fees.
- Payment-processing fees are added at checkout where applicable.
Why charge at all? RoarSoar is currently a demonstration platform under development. These small fees cover file processing and storage without exposing the project to unpredictable bills. We hope future investment, advertising or other funding will allow every account a free hosted-media allocation. External links remain a free route in the meantime. Live broadcasts are different because delivery costs rise with every attendee and every minute.
